SHAL tier testing will be held this Saturday January 28 at Dave Finkel Fields in Clear Lake (see address and link to map below).  If any of the experienced parents can help the SCFC staff while there, it would be greatly appreciated.  If you cannot make the designated time, you may walk up and test up until 1:00 pm.  If you cannot make it at all, we will do our best to get your child on an appropriate team with other information.

We will conduct tier testing along with the PDF (Player Developmental Friendlies) tryouts on all Academy players on Saturday, August 20^th.

Players will be notified by Sunday, August 21^st   if they have been selected for the PDF gaming league play.  We must have confirmation if you choose to play in the PDF league by Monday, August 22^nd at NOON.

In support of this matter, U9 and U10 Academy practices will be canceled this Monday 8/22 so you may attend the council meeting. They will resume on Wednesday as scheduled.

Please reply now to notify City Council of your support to fund Max Road Soccer Complex this year and to keep the 2007 Bond Parks Projects – Max Rd. Soccer Complex, Centennial Park, Shadow Creek Ranch Sports Complex, Independence Park, Trail Connectivity and the Nature Center on schedule.

The Pearland Parks, Recreation and Beautification Board (PPRBB) serves as a liaison board between the citizens and the city council.  City Council members serve to be responsible stewards of our taxpayer dollars.  PPRBB is asking citizens to participate in this e-mail campaign to reassure City Council that Pearland taxpayers support timely completion of the capital improvement projects that we overwhelmingly voted “YES” for in the May 2007 bond election that projected a 7.5 cent tax increase over 7 years.   The FY 2012 budget is currently being reviewed by City Council.  The budget as proposed includes a 1.5 cent tax increase ($24 per year for a $160,000 property).  However, the budget as proposed creates a 2-4 year delay in all projects as there is no funding for construction of the Max Road Soccer Complex.  Centennial Park and Shadow Creek Ranch facilities are dependent upon Max Rd. completion in order to provide adequate places for soccer and softball to continue during development of these projects. The Nature Center is scheduled behind those projects.  For an additional .5 cent tax increase ($8 per year for $160,000 property) over what is currently proposed, Max Road construction could be funded and all projects could stay on schedule.  This tax rate increase is still within the original projection approved in the 2007 Bond Election.  Completion of the Trail Connectivity Project and Nature Center provide eco-tourism benefits consistent with City’s Green Initiative and vital to improving our quality of life (as highlighted in the 2010 Master Plan update).

Here is what we need to do to help keep the projects on schedule:

2. Forward this e-mail to others to participate – make sure to cc:council@ci.pearland.tx.us to ensure city council sees the response from the public.
3. Attend the 8/15 City Council Workshop to hear the council discuss and determine the FY2012 tax rate – 6:30 p.m. City Hall.
4. Personally and respectfully notify City Council members of your interests/concerns with these projects by e-mail at council@ci.pearland.tx.us or leaving a phone message for council members at 281-652-1662
5. Attend the Aug. 22nd – City Council Regular Meeting – Public Comment 7:30 p.m. City Hall.
